 Evening Talk:
New Developments in Laminitis

The Lion, Tudweiliog, 18 March 2010

with Richard Vialls, Equine Podiatrist
In this evening talk Richard will discuss the latest thinking on the causes
and treatment of laminitis. He will cover both the latest mainstream veterinary
viewpoint and some new and promising approaches being researched by the Equine
Podiatry Association. He will discuss how a growing understanding of laminitis m
ay lead to a better understanding of other foot-related problems. The talk will
be illustrated with photos and diagrams.

Richard Vialls is an experienced Equine Podiatrist (barefoot trimmer) based in
North Wales. His practice includes both performance barefoot horses and many
‘problem’ cases. He has a particular research interest in laminitis and is a
member of the governing council of the Equine Podiatry Association as well
being a tutor on the UK Diploma course in equine podiatry.
